Chameleon

The Chameleon takes its name from the way its legs meet beneath its center of gravity, much like a chameleon balancing on a branch while awaiting its prey. However, unlike its namesake's camouflaging mimicry, this public light-space modulator installation constantly changes color at night, becoming a highly visible landmark. This large canvas and bamboo structure was created as a visual element, a space-defining and attention-grabbing object for the opening of the residential park. Due to its size, such a canvas system is primarily interpreted as environmental art – a kind of sculptural creation. But besides defining, reshaping, and making the environment unique and festive, it naturally has additional functions (shading, rain protection, information carrier). This unique installation was specifically designed for this event and was later exhibited at the Hungarian Design Award 2003 exhibition. kiállított mű volt a Formatervezési Díj 2003. kiállításon.
